topics for my research ( EDU 702: Research Methodology)

One of the subjects that I take this semester is Research Methodology. In the first semester, we are asked to come out with a topic of our interest. Well, I have a few in my mind right now.

These are some examples:

1. Autonomous Learning in ESL classroom. At first,I thought this would be good, but then I am not pretty sure of which area I want to focus on out of the 4 skills. I am not that confident that this topic might work for me.

2. Task based learning in ESL classroom (focusing on oral competency)

Being in a matriculation college, I found that though the students who enrolled here are selected and some of them are deemed as the cream of the crop, it might not be surprising if I say that there are some students who have very low mastery in English competency(  they don't really understand basic instructions and  phrases in English) and they have low self-esteem in speaking in front of the public. Some might hesitate to speak because they are afraid in making errors , having lack of confidence, not motivated, feeling inferior towards those who can speak better , and others. Therefore I think I can do this topic for my research as it is something that sparks some interest and curiosity in me, and I have access to the population.

3. Blended learning in ESL/EFL classroom
This topic is popular and there are so many journals/ articles that I can refer to. However it is not really practised in the place where I am working now.

So, these are some of topics that I have in my mind. The areas are somewhat not current but the scope of these respective fields are
applicable in today's class.
